Honor X10 5G Revolution

Prior to this month, HONOR, the dual-brand owned by Huawei Technologies was preparing to launch a new smartphone, the HONOR X10 5G Revolution. The company reveals that this new 5G capable phone is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 820 chip and feature a 90Hz display with a 180Hz touch response rate. This model was finally launched on 20th May ’20 in China where further specifications and pricing were announced. It was launched in Fiery Orange, Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, and Titanium Silver colours.

In terms of design, the Honor X10 looks a lot like the Honor 30 series which was launched earlier this year and features a similar rectangular camera module on the back. The HONOR X10 5G flaunts a neat 3D curved glass-like back design unique two-tone finish in Light speed Silver, Probing Black, and Racing Blue colour ways. With the focus on side-mounted fingerprint reader, this phone gives a nice in hand feel. In front, the phone comes with a 6.63-inch FHD+IPS LCD touchscreen Full view display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels at a pixel density of 397 pixels per inch (ppi), a 92% screen-to-body ratio.

As mentioned earlier, the Honor X10 5G is powered by Huawei’s mid-range HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G octa-core SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The device features no notch or hole-punch cutout on the display for the selfie camera and opts for a pop-up camera mechanism instead. The Honor X10 measures 163.70 x 76.50 x 8.80mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 203.00 grams. It is also mentioned that the phone will be water and dust resistant according to IP5X standard.

The Honor X10 runs on Android 10 and is powered by a 4300 mAh battery. The smartphone makes use of an Octa-core (1 x Cortex-A76 Based 2.36GHz + 3 x Cortex-A76 Based 2.22GHz + 4 x Cortex-A55 1.84 GHz), HUAWEI Kirin 820 5G that is coupled with ARM Mali-G57MP6 GPU GPU,6 / 8 GB RAM and 64 / 128 GB Storage default memory capacity. The Honor X10 runs on MagicUI 3.1.1 based on Android 10 and packs 64GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded via Nano Memory Card (up to 256GB). The Honor X10 is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. Expected to be possessing a capacity of 4,300 mAh it will support for 22.5 watts of fast charging technology. The Honor X10 assists proprietary fast charging. It’s good to look in this pricing.


As far as the cameras are concerned, the smartphone has a triple camera setup at the back. The camera setup is placed in the upper-left corner inside a rectangular plate along with an LED flash. TheMobile on the rear packs a 40-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; a second 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a third 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It sports a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.2 aperture. To make the all-screen design possible, HONOR equipped this handset with a 16MP f/2.2 pop-up front camera module. Overall, the smartphone will have a 40MP main camera along with an 8MP ultra wide and 2MP macro units at back and a 16MP front camera. The Honor X10 design as well as camera looks pretty good.

The X10 from Honor include the connectivity options of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.10, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone comprise of the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

It is available in three different variants priced as following:

6GB + 64GB – CNY1,899 (~$267)
6GB + 128GB – CNY 2,199 (~$309)
8GB + 128GB – CNY 2,399 (~$337)

The device is already up for pre-booking on all major e-Commerce platforms in China and prospective buyers will be able to pre-book a device until May 25th. The device will be available for purchase across all major online channels in the region starting from May 26th. Buyers will be able to pick from four different color variants — Probing Black, Racing Blue, Orange, and Light speed Silver. This has been no announcement about the international release of this smartphone. But it is expected that Honor X10 5G would be priced upto 20,000 INR or above. 

Is HONOR X10 Worth The Price?

At this price, one gets a sturdy, sleek smartphone with an impressive battery life. Many good smartphones often suffer from their relatively unreasonable pricing and don’t get a nod for it’s price. Since the HONOR X10 has bang on specifications so it’s pricing is worthy. It’s a definite Yes for this being the best phone at this price.
