Sketch For Windows

Tips & Tricks
Sketch for Windows
  • Sketch for Windows, is a graphics application for designers, lending itself very nicely to the world of web design. If you’re new to it, you may not be aware of some of the tricks Sketch has, hidden under the surface. Today I’d like to run through some top tips to speed up your design workflow.
  • Sketch is a proprietary vector editing platform for Mac. It comes with complete toolkits that allow designers to create elements that reflect their ideas down to the last pixel.
  • With Sketch, users can apply effects and modifications as they wish without fear of destroying their original data file. The application enables this through its non-destructive editing feature that allows designers to experiment with their designs.
  • Moreover, Sketch users can see a live preview of their designs on their iOS devices, so they know how their creations look like on different screens. On top of that, designers can easily access support through Sketch Cloud and get immediate answers to their queries.

We Can Run it in Sketch for windows?

Run Sketch for Windows

Is there a hack or something to run Sketch on Windows? Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to run Sketch on Windows. Sketch is so fast and lightweight because it uses a lot of OS X’s core features (native technologies and frameworks) that can’t be easily ported. It’s unlikely that Bohemian Coding (creators of Sketch) will release Windows version anytime soon because that means the app would have to be rewritten entirely to work on Windows.

You need to export design from Sketch. It means that someone (a designer) will have to install a plugin in their Sketch and upload .sketch files to the cloud. Each time you’ll need to see a new version of the design you’ll have to ask someone to upload the file to cloud first. It isn’t flexible at all.

About Lunacy

  • Lunacy is a lightweight app that requires no extra configuration. It’s a first tool on the market that lets you view Sketch files directly in a standalone Windows application without the need of registering first. No need to install any 3rd party plugins to work with Sketch. Just install the app and get started.

Lunacy is completely free,

  • Full compatibility with Sketch (as you show it later in the article), including opening, editing, and saving.
  • Font hell prevention (Lunacy downloads Google Fonts automatically).
  • One-click export of the images to the CDN-powered servers.
  • One-click exporting the whole design to Sketch the Ripper.
  • Lunacy is a powerful tool for design review which allows you to take out all the necessary data from.sketch file. You can export each object separately by deciding its size and format and clicking the “Export” button. This tool will help you to generate CSS for layers. Lunacy is a native Windows app that opens, edits, and stores sketch files. And it’s completely free.

Working with Sketch

Working with sketch

With Sketch, you need a Mac not only to design with but also to open and inspect files. If you are on Windows, Linux or Chrome you’re out of luck. Figma is platform-independent. Layers are the building blocks for creating designs in Sketch. Shapes, Groups and Artboards are all types of layers.

If you’re an absolute beginner looking for some help getting started, or a Sketch veteran looking for in-depth guides on things like best practice or collaboration, we’ve listed some of our favourite courses and resources below.

Last year Sketch received a fresh lick of paint with version 2, and since then, more and more designers have been switching to it. Its simplicity makes it arguably more intuitive than Photoshop (which, don’t forget, was originally built for editing and processing images), whilst its vector tools are more than capable of taking on Illustrator. Sketch is not a bitmap editing tool. It does feature a pixel preview, but is built to help you design interfaces and icons.

  • Work on any platform, no installation required. Just login and start working.
  • Collaborate in the same file at the same time (just like Google docs).
  • Open a design to create, edit and inspect instantly with no third-party tools required.

Exporting in sketch For Windows

Exporting is a great feature that comes out of the box with Sketch. Just go to draw as many slices as you need. You can also export as if you designed and the other way round.

Sketch offers even more slicing control. With the menu item, you can select a layer which you’ve recently created, then click this item to get a slice that is exactly the size of the selection.

We realize that when you make a decision to buy Graphic Design Software it’s important not only to see how experts evaluate it in their reviews, but also to find out if the real people and companies that buy it are actually satisfied with the product. That’s why we’ve created our behavior-based Customer satisfaction algorithm, that gathers customer reviews, comments and Sketch reviews across a wide range of social media sites. The data is then presented in an easy to digest form showing how many people had positive and negative experience with Sketch.
